Removing Wine Stains

The color in wine soaks deep in to the carpet and that is why removing wine stains is not easy. The red color soaks in to the fibers and leaves a stain that you can not ignore.

With carpeting you only have access to the top of the carpet when trying to remove stains.

When cleaning a stain you should not soak the area because most carpet has padding underneath. If the carpet gets too wet,the floor underneath can get damaged.

Over-wetting can also cause mold and mildew to grow. Pour club soda on the stain as soon as possible before it dries. Dried stains can be removed by dabbing some hydrogen peroxide on.

A paste of equal parts baking powder and borax mixed wth cold water is a good wine stain remover.

Tomato and Katchup

Spaghetti sauce, tomato juice, and ketchup stains can be removed with foamy shaving cream Rub it in with a sponge.

Rinse with clean water and vacuum when dry.

Fruit Juice Soak up as much as possible with paper towels.Sprinkle borax over the stain to counter the acididity in fruit juice.

Wait 1 hour and rince with water and blott dry.
