Port Wine Stain

As strange as it may sound, you can actually clean port wine stain, by pouring some white wine on it. A mixture of white wine and methylated spirits, is even better. Blot with paper towels.

If you are having a wine tasting party and your guests spill a glass of red wine on your carpet, you can clean up the spill and prevent staining of the carpet, by taking action as quickly as possible after the spill.

Do not wait, as the wine will soak in to the fibers, causing staining, and it will be more difficult to clean.

Lightly wet with white wine, which is acidic. It will neutralize the stain. Add water and blot dry. Clean any remaining stain with methylated spirits.

To help in keeping your carpets clean, it is a good idea to use doormats. This will prevent a lot of dirt from being walked in to the carpet. Milk Stains

Mix one teaspoon of dish-washing liquid with one cup of lukewarm water. Blot the stain. Be careful not to rub.

Soak up as much moisture as possible with paper towels. Make a mixture of one tablespoon of ammonia and a half cup of water. Blot the stain. Soak up moisture with paper towels.
