Paint Stain

Sometimes paint stain droppings end up on the carpet. It is possible to get it out. First thing to do is to blot up as much of the drops as possible, using paper towels. If it is latex that has spilled on the carpet, spray with clean water, and blot.

Repeat until as much as possible has been soaked up. If it is oil-based, blot with paper towels dipped in thinner or turpentine. Repeat until most of the spill is soaked up. If some paint remains on the carpet, blot with paper towels soaked with 3 percent hydrogen peroxide. Wait for one hour. Blot with paper towels.

Be careful not to use full strength hydrogen peroxide, because it acts like bleach and may damage the carpet. It may bleach the color out of the carpet and ruin it. As always check any cleaning method in an area of the carpet that will not be seen, before you use it on the stained area of the carpet.
