Eliminating Pet Odors

If your pet has an accident eliminating pet odors on the carpet may not be that easy. There are home made pet odor eliminators that you can use. Also you have to think of how to stop pet odors. The problem is that cleaning the surface of the carpet is not enough. It probably soaked into the carpet and down into the padding.

Homemade pet odor remover

Mix a solution of half vinegar and half warm water.

Pour it on the carpet and let it soak down into the padding.

Leave it for half an hour before cleaning up.

Soak with cold tap water to remove the vinegar.

Rinse several times and use plenty of water.

Dry completely with lots of paper towels.

A fan or heater will help to dry the carpet.

When the carpet is dry, sprinkle some baking soda on it, and then vacuum.

Ammonia

A lot of household cleaning products contain ammonia. These should never be used to clean up pet stains. Ammonia can actually make the smell worse. It also can encourage your pet to pee on the same area of the carpet again.

Coffee For Pet Odors

Warm some ground coffee over a low heat in a frying pan. The scent will fill the air. Then move it to the room with the smell. When the coffee cools the unpleasant odor should be gone.
