Dirt Stains

Soil builds up in different levels of the carpet. At the top are dirt stains light soils and dust. In the middle are heavier particles of dust and organic matter. At the base of the carpet pile are the heaviest particles, sand and grit.

You do not see the grit and sand, but it is causing damage to the carpet, by grinding against the fibers. The good news is that most of the dust can be removed by regular vacuuming. But what is left behind in the carpet will continue to build up and cause damage to the carpet.

Regular vacuuming is essential to extending the life of your carpet. Vacuum slowly and overlap as you go back and forth. Vacuuming alone is not enough to keep your carpet in great shape. Deep cleaning must be used to restore the carpet to a near original condition.

Carpet can takes a lot of abuse, but when your guests walk into your room it is one of the first things that they notice. You do not want to give the impression that you never clean your carpets. With regular cleaning your carpets should not have to be replaced it until you are ready to re model.

Do not track soil in to your house. Remove your shoes when you enter the house. Place doormats at every door. Keeping as much soil outside as possible, will keep your carpets cleaner longer.
