Cleaning a Mattress

If you have kids you will be cleaning a mattress a few times. You need to know how to clean mattress stain. You know that the bed can get wet, from time to time, but drying and cleaning must be done as soon as possible.

Urine

Blot up liquid with rags,pressing hard to absorb as much liquid as possible.Then put paper towels with weights on top to soak up the moisture.

If needed use a commercial carpet stain remover.Stand the mattress on its side to preventthe moisture getting deeper inside,and wait until it is dry.Then lay flat and pour on some baking soda and leave overnight.vacuum clean in the morning.

Musty

Use baking soda to soak up the odor when cleaning a soiled mattress.

It is good to turn your mattress every 3 months to allow even wear.Covering a mattress with a pad or plastic protector is the best way to prevent stains,especially on a child's bed.

Periodic care of a mattres will prolong its life ,and vacuuming will help keep dust mites under control.When you rotate your mattress ,vacuum the exposed surface.

This will help remove dust mites and mold spores.Every time you flip the mattress vacuum it again. When bloting a mattress use as little water as possible, because moisture can lead to mold growth.

To speed drying run a fan toward the mattress, or take it outside and let the sun, dry it.
