Clean Granite Counter

You want to have a clean granite counter. With different counter materials, you will need different ways to clean each one. They also have many things in common. Many countertops are not heatproof, heat can damage it, so be careful with hot pots and pans.

Granite is very hard and is also brittle. It can crack if hit with a heavy pot. It can also scrape, so do not use a knife to scrape off spills and stains. Use a chopping board to prevent scratches. Do not chop on the bare granite.

Everyday Cleaning

Wipe down with a damp cloth. Sealed granite will resist most stains, but unsealed will not. Make a homemade cleaning paste. Mix calcium carbonate with a little ammonia and hydrogen peroxide.Leave it on the countertop for an hour or two and then wipe off. Always test first where it will not be seen, just in case.

Granite is the most popular natural stone used for countertops. It is very strong and durable, and once it is sealed it is easy to clean. It is also very heavy and difficult to install. It is also very expensive.
