When you use cheap carpet cleaners, you get what you pay for. With the cost of gas, wages, equipment, cleaning, solutions,advertising, repairs, taxes, etc. It is impossible to pay all of those costs, and clean carpets for an extremley low price.

You may have seen an undercover investigation on TV, of carpet cleaning companies who do not honor their coupons, and instead charge hundreds of dollars to clean the carpets.

The price on the carpet cleaning coupon is so low that it would not cover the cost of the gas to get to the person's house. Never mind wages and cleaning solutions.

The strange thing is that advertising with low price coupons actually works. The customer sees the super low price, and fully expects the carpet cleaner to come to her house and clean her carpets for virtually free.

This is a trick used by some carpet cleaning companies, to get the phone to wring.

As soon as they get to the customers house, the price goes up. The customer with the coupon thinks that they can take advantage of the carpet cleaner, who is going to clean her carpets for almost free.

What happens is the customer ends up paying for a poor quality job. Cheap carpet cleaners are not really cheap.

A good way to save money between cleanings is to make your own carpet deodorizer. Scented baking soda is excellent for removing odors from carpet, and is very inexpensive.
