Black Carpet Beetle

Black carpet beetles as their name suggests can be found in your carpets. The larvae feed on carpets, underfelt, and wool. They lay their eggs neer a food source, but it can take a year before they become adult beetles.

The adults feed on necter and pollen in flowers. They can find their way in to your house on flowers. It is a good idea to check any flowers that you bring into your house for pests.

These little pest is shiny black and long. They damage carpet by eating holes into it. Over time they can cause damage that cannot be repaired. The best way to keep them out of your carpets, is by regular vacuuming.

Once they get into your home they can be very difficult to get rid of, and can destroy your carpet. This is why regular care of your carpet is so important. Regular vacuuming can prevent the larvae from taking a foothold.

Neglected carpet can be damaged so much that it cannot be saved. The only solution may be to install new carpet. Regular steam cleaning pays for itself by extending the life of your carpet.
